The use of temporary and permanent towers is wide spread in the meteorological, communication and wind assessment fields. The tower needs to be as light as possible and must be erected with basic tools such as a gin pole. Such towers are generally installed in remote areas and are often in place for a limited period of time, from a few months to 5 years or more. The measurement height needs to be as close as possible to the wind turbine hub height so that data is credible and bankable. With taller turbines, the necessity of higher wind assessment towers is increased.

The Scout 60 Wind Mast is manufactured to withstand the harshest of conditions. The Scout 60 anemometer mast is easy to erect and dismantle and the length of its section permits easy transportation.

The Scout 60 is warranted* for wind gusts as fast as 50m/s (180km/h or 111mph) at top height from any direction without ice. The Scout 60 galvanized steel tower is warranted* for naturally occurring radial ice accumulation on guy wires up to 22.8mm (0.9 inch). When ice is present (even lower than 22.8mm radial) the maximum wind gust is 150km/h (41m/s or 93mph) at top height. (*see our limited warranty conditions)
